A COVID-19 Update

COVID-19 Update: October 18, 2020

Dear Sebasco Friends,

As our last guests of the season leave today, we can’t help to remember all the great moments of 2020!  Yes, it was different, challenging and crazy – but many of our guests returned to support us and we made so many new friends!  We look forward to seeing everyone in 2021 – which will be our 92nd season!

And the end of this season wouldn’t be complete without another message from our Lighthouse Keeper!  We look forward to staying in touch over the winter months and hope all of you stay safe and healthy.

With Appreciation,

Bob Smith

Lighthouse Keeper

We also encourage you to follow us on Instagram @sebascoharbor if you need a moment of armchair escapism to the beautiful coast of Maine – we will be posting videos and photos daily.   And we will be staying in touch weekly by email as we work our way together through these challenging times.

COVID-19 Update: September 25, 2020

Dear Sebasco Friends:

As we celebrate the traditional end of summer on this special day, here’s a tribute to our team.

Labor Day honors the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.  Melissa, Michael and I are so proud of everyone working here and the wonderful attitudes maintained despite countless hours of overtime during a difficult time in all of our lives.  We will be forever grateful to this incredible team of hospitality professionals that show up each and every day to make your stay memorable.

Please enjoy the smiles!

With Appreciation,
Bob Smith

Keeping You Safe, from the Lighthouse Keeper

These are historically new times and we have adjusted to what will be the new normal, creating new standards of sanitation and cleaning that will remain in place moving forward.  We are taking all steps necessary to keep both our guests and our staff safe from COVID -19.

We want to enjoy all the wonderful things Sebasco has to offer without any concern for your family’s safety.  The beauty of Maine and our great outdoors has never been more in focus than now.    The warmth of the hospitality we have been providing for 90 years will not change.  We promise broad smiles will still be there, even behind a mask.  We will have to put the hugs, the handshakes and even the high fives on hold for a while.  That won’t be easy for us but let us hope that will be temporary.

Moving forward, this summarizes our standards for 2020.

  • Guests may Pre-Register and get all their information and keys without coming to the desk.  Just call when you arrive, and we will meet you outside of the registration area.  If you want to come in, that area will be used exclusively for guests and front desk staff and fully sanitized with the proper barriers and shielding between you and us.
  • Properly spaced, in restaurant dining will still be available, but we have expanded outdoor seating around the entire campus and can arrange for meals to be delivered to you if needed.
  • Distancing Guidelines will be defined for seating at the pool, outdoor patios and decks, and all around our wide-open spaces

We remain committed to the highest standards of personalized service.  We have adopted and, in many cases exceeded, protocols set by the CDC, both nationally and in Maine,  and are using the Stay Safe Initiative developed by the American Hotel & Lodging Association, working with all of the major chains and independent resorts around the country.   Please feel free to explore the links below for the details of our programs.

COVID-19 Update: May 23, 2020

Dear Sebasco Friends,

Memorial weekend is upon us and the weather is perfect for hosting our guests.  We have to wait just a bit longer though and know you will appreciate the ‘wait’.

We are still very busy getting ready with all of our property upgrades that we know you will enjoy when you return – we’re getting closer!

Good news bad news…

First the bad news, we’re going to open a little later this year. Now the good news. That gives us all the more time to do some spectacular new improvements before you come this year. Stay tuned.  You won’t believe the surprises at Sebasco.

COVID-19 Update: April 11, 2020

To All of Our Dear Guests and Friends:

We know many of you will spend this Easter or Passover without the chance to be with your families this year. While that will be tough for many of us, we want you all to remember that it won’t be long before we’re all back together again. Here’s our message of the week and happy holiday.

COVID-19 Update: April 4, 2020

To our Dear Friends and Guests,
We hope you’re staying safe and we wish you and all of your loved ones the best, during these times.

Everyone here at Sebasco is still working hard to get ready for the summer, although most of us are working from our homes. Those that are working at the resort are keeping their distance and staying safe.

We said we would keep communicating and let you know how we’re doing.   We hope you’ll find this week’s message from the Saltwater Hillbilly entertaining but sincere. Please enjoy the video and staying connected with us in a very positive way.   We can’t wait to see you all this season, even if it might be a little later than some have planned.

And remember, cherish those Sebasco Harbor sunsets via our LIVE Lighthouse Cam as well as staying in touch via our Facebook and Instagram pages.

"Sebasco - My Home Away From Home"

COVID-19 UPDATE: March 26, 2020

To our beloved Sebasco guests,

We are all in this together. How many times have we heard or said that phrase in the last week?  It rings very true for us here in Maine, and we are thinking of all our extended Sebasco family of guests: even from afar our connection has never felt deeper.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and at a time of deep uncertainty for everyone, our family at Sebasco wishes to give you some peace of mind. Firstly, some transparency: we are in a unique situation as a seasonal resort, currently closed and, like the rest of you, taking it day by day. We are not scheduled to re-open until May 15th, and while that is likely to change, we have little choice but to wait for a few weeks to make that call.

If you have a reservation already booked with us for May, we have generous and flexible options available should they be needed. Please call us to discuss,  866-389-2072.  If your reservations with us are for June or later this summer, please don’t worry.   We will adjust your dates if it becomes necessary.  And we will fully refund any deposits, without any fees, if you do need to cancel.  Once it becomes safe to gather again, I can’t think of a better place than Sebasco.

And if you’re receiving this email, lest we forget what brought us together to begin with: a wonderful vacation in Maine. Better days are surely ahead, and we want to remind you of the rest, relaxation and beauty of Sebasco in our little corner of the world. As such, we will have a LIVE WEBCAM for “Sunsets at Sebasco” beginning Friday, March 27th so that you can take a moment each day and watch the sunset on beautiful Sebasco Harbor.

We also encourage you to follow us on Instagram @sebascoharbor if you need a moment of armchair escapism to the beautiful coast of Maine – we will be posting videos and photos daily.   And we will be staying in touch weekly by email as we work our way together through these challenging times.
