The Ruth

The Ruth’s trip schedule is subject to change due to weather and sea conditions on Casco Bay so be sure to call ahead to confirm your preferred trip. Windbreakers and sweaters are recommended as temperatures on the water are often 10 degrees colder than on land.

The captain of the Ruth is Ron Gabaree, Sr.. He has extensive experience with the waters surrounding Sebasco and would be delighted to have you aboard the Ruth for a cruise.

All scheduled boat trips and tour cruises aboard the Ruth are reserved seating and reservations should be made in advance to avoid disappointment.

Scenic Nature and Harbor Cruise: We are blessed by our location amid three of Maine’s prettiest fishing villages. See the wharves, homes and boats of Cundy’s Harbor, Sebasco village and West Point from the water. Harbor seals, ospreys, blue heron and double-crested cormorants are all regular sights. Chances are good that you may see snowy egrets and eagles as well.

Pirate Cruise: Children, parents and grandparents alike always enjoy helping our resident pirate, Captain Cornelius, find his sunken boat and buried treasure. It’s a fun time and each child receives a share of the treasure!

Maine Lobstering & Fishing: Learn about the daily lives of Maine lobstermen and fishermen on this fascinating, up close trip. The RUTH will cruise through local fishing villages and view working boats of all shapes and sizes. Off-shore lobster boats, stern draggers and gill netters are just some of the boats you may see. Captain Ron will answer all your questions, including how some of your favorite menu items get from the ocean to your plate. This is a unique way to experience Maine and create memories that will last a lifetime!
